Tonnou W G Ghothane

Tonnou Ghothane has completed his Bachelor of Laws from Victoria University and Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at College of Law. He is a recipient of Golden Key from International Honor Society for his law degree. He also has Bachelor of Business from Swinburne University. And he is the member of Law Institute of Victoria.

Tonnou has more than 15 years of experiences in Australian immigration industry. His primary area of practice remains immigration law. He has handled many complex cases at Department and Administrative Appeals Tribunal as well as Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. Besides lodging visa applications, he also practices family, business and property law.

Tonnou is very passionate about law. Additionally, he is also honest and frank that is demonstrated in his advice and work. His approach to legal solution is value and outcome based without compromising the integrity of the system.  More importantly, he goes beyond his normal duty to help clients realize their goal.

Due to Tonnou’s background in business studies, he has more leverages than others to assist employers and employees in sponsorship, nomination and visa application in both temporary and permanent employer sponsored visas. In addition, he is also better suited to assist both employers and employees in compliance of working visa.

Tonnou is extensively involved in community and social work. He is the member of Rotary Club of Broadmeadows. In the past, his involvement has been with Nepalese Association of Victoria (NAV) since 1997. He held the position of joint secretary of NAV from 2003-2007. Additionally, he was elected as the president of NRNA Australia which is the biggest Nepali association in Australia for 2017-2019 term. Tonnou had been Australian Multicultural Ambassador for Mental Health Foundation Australia.

Tonnou is committed to support youth through sports and has been actively involved with community cricket, soccer and basketball teams.

As part of Ghothane Lawyers pro bono program, Tonnou undertakes pro bono in family law and immigration matters.

Tonnou speaks Nepali and Hindi fluently besides English.

In his free time, Tonnou continues to contribute to the community through his affiliation with community organizations. He likes to read books and love to watch movies.
