What is the First Home Loan Deposit Scheme (FHLDS)?

The FHLDS allows first home buyers to purchase a property with as little as a 5% deposit, without paying Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI). The government guarantees up to 15% of the loan. This scheme has limited places each financial year.
