What if I have a criminal record?

You must disclose it. Having a criminal record does not automatically disqualify you from obtaining a visa. The Department will consider the nature of the offense, how long ago it occurred and whether you have demonstrated rehabilitation. You may still be eligible if you can show that you pose no risk to the community.
